You have a problem with your website. How do I know? Your website isn't getting the traffic you need. Your online business is not being as profitable as you thought it would be by this time. You're thinking of giving up on this whole online ecommerce business.
Well don't! We can help!
Even if your website isn't generating as much traffic as you would like, there are tricks we can do to help that. Even if you've conducted solid keyword research and installed visitor tracking systems, we can still help.
But the question remains. Why aren't you getting more traffic?
The search engines operate with very specific needs. If your website isn't designed with the search engines in mind, you will most likely never receive the free targeted traffic your website needs to be successful.
Don't you want your online investment to start working for you?
Here's the top five most common website problems I've seen:
1. Not enough content. Your home page needs to have between 400 and 1000 words. If you don't know how many words your page has, copy the text and paste it into a text editor like MS Word. Then use their text counting tool.
2. Keywords are buried in the text. Your keywords need to be at the beginning of each paragraph and in the heading for each section.
3. Sites designed with Flash. Flash is a beautiful tool that creates dynamic websites. A little Flash is great, but sites that are totally structured around Flash content are difficult to read by the search engines. Restrict your Flash to one movie or one heading.
4. Too many pictures. This goes right along with not enough content. Pictures are great for people viewing your site, but, as of right now, the search engines can't tell what the content of a picture is! This means that unless you optimize your pictures' ALT tags with keyword specific content, to a search engine, the picture is simply wasted space.
5. Link structure. Those fancy little graphics that do a little dance and change color when your mouse goes over the link are really just pictures that have been hyperlinked to the other pages. Search engines value the text of a link very much, almost as much as content headings. Like pictures, you can place keywords in the ALT tags of these links, but it's better to have text link, each link being a keyword.
Guilty of any of these? Change it now. It's never too late to start having the website you need to make money online.
